How to register for NECS?

STEP 1: Check Eligibility & Requirements

  • NECS is typically used by businesses, government agencies, and organizations for bulk transactions.
  • Individual customers can register for NECS for automatic payments or credits (like EMI auto-debit, salary, or dividends).

STEP 2: Obtain the NECS Mandate Form

  • Visit your bank’s branch or download the NECS mandate form from the bank’s website.
  • The mandate authorizes the bank to credit/debit your account for a specific purpose.

STEP 3: Fill in the NECS Mandate Form

  • Provide the following details:

      • Your name & account number
      • Bank branch & IFSC code
      • Type of transaction (credit or debit)
      • Amount limit (if applicable)
      • Purpose (e.g., salary credit, loan EMI, bill payments, pension, or dividends)
      • Organization/Company details (if registering as a business for bulk transactions)

STEP 4: Submit Supporting Documents

  • For Individuals: Submit a cancelled cheque and identity proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, or Voter ID).
  • For Businesses: Provide company registration documents, bank details, and authorization letter.

STEP 5: Authorize & Submit the Mandate

  • Sign the NECS mandate form and submit it to your bank along with the required documents.
  • Some banks require physical verification before activation.

STEP 6: Bank Processing & Approval

  • The bank will verify your details and forward the request to the RBI clearing system.
  • Approval typically takes a few working days based on the bank’s processing time.

STEP 7: Confirmation & Activation

  • Once approved, you’ll receive an SMS or email confirmation stating that NECS is activated.
  • Your transactions (credits or debits) will now be automatically processed through NECS.

STEP 8: Track Transactions & Modify If Needed

  • You can monitor NECS transactions via net banking, mobile banking, or bank statements.
  • If you need to update, modify, or cancel the NECS mandate, visit your bank and submit a modification request.
